Who We Are
Save A Yorkie Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2002 by Marilyn and Don Faughner. Since then, our dedicated volunteers have rescued over 2,500 Yorkshire Terriers and Yorkie mixes, giving them a second chance at life.
Every person involved with our rescue is a volunteer—no one receives payment. Many of our foster families even contribute personally to cover veterinary bills and supplies for the dogs in their care.
Why Yorkies Need Rescue
It may be hard to believe, but Yorkshire Terriers end up in shelters and rescue more often than you'd think. They're found wandering as strays, surrendered when families can no longer care for them, or abandoned when medical bills become too much for their owners.
Without rescue organizations like ours, these dogs would face an uncertain future. We're here to change that—one Yorkie at a time.
Our Mission
We believe every dog deserves love, proper care, and a safe home. Our network of foster families provides temporary homes where Yorkies can heal, learn to trust again, and prepare for their forever families.
Whether you're here to adopt, foster, volunteer, or donate—welcome. You're in the right place to help save a Yorkie.
